How do I keep my phone number when moving office?

If you are moving to new office premises within the same local exchange area there should be no problem keeping your phone number(s).

You would just contact your existing service provider (eg BT, TalkTalk, Sky etc) to arrange things.

However, if you are moving to an area served by a different exchange then things are a little bit more complicated, but it is still possible to keep your phone number(s) for as little as £2.00 per month with the help of Premitel.

In the paragraphs below we discuss the options that are available to you.

Option 1 – Keep your existing phone number(s) with a call forward to another number

We can manage your existing phone number(s) and set up a call forward to the phone number of your choice.

This could be your new landline number or your mobile number.

This service costs £25.00 (per number) to set up with a monthly service charge of £2.00 (per number).

As long as the call forward is to a UK landline or mobile number there will be no usage charges for the forwarded call.

You can cancel the service at any time

For an extra £0.50 per month (per number) we can forward the call to a second number if there is no answer at your main number.

Option 2 – Keep your existing phone number with an announcement advising callers of your new number followed by a call forward to another number

This is similar to Option 1 except that a pre-recorded announcement is played before the call is forwarded.

The announcement can be anything, but would typically advise callers of your new landline number.

You can provide the announcement in your own voice or we can record it for you.

This service costs £50.00 (per number) to set up with a monthly service charge of £2.50 (per number).

As long as the call forward is to a UK landline or mobile number there will be no usage charges for the forwarded call.

You can cancel the service at any time

For an extra £0.50 per month (per number) we can forward the call to a second number if there is no answer at your main number.

Option 3 – Keep your existing phone number(s) with an internet (ie VoIP) phone line or phone system

We can manage your existing phone number(s) and supply, configure and install a new internet phone line or phone system at your office premises.

You would need Option 3 if you want to make outgoing calls using your existing phone number(s) or if you had only an internet connection at your new premises and no phone lines.

Option 3 would require a bespoke service tailored to your specific requirements and would require discussions and possibly a visit to your premises.

It is therefore not possible to provide an indication of costs for this option.
