Tariff and Service Information

The Premitel VoIP Phone Service has a simple low-cost tariff structure with no minimum contract period and fair conditions of use.

These would apply after the standard trial period when a customer has migrated to a full account with a new or transferred phone number.

The relevant service information and conditions of use are set out in the paragraphs below.

For Homes and Small Businesses

The table below shows that the Premitel VoIP Phone Service has six tariff options to suit all types of user.

These tariffs would apply to single user homes and small businesses.

Note that there are per-user discounts for multi-user businesses, see “For Multi-User Businesses” section below.

Tariff Notes:
  1. Inclusive calls with the 07 prefix are to numbers associated with the main UK mobile networks: EE; Three; O2; Orange; Virgin; and Vodafone.
  2. Overage is the call charge rate that would apply after the inclusive minute limit has been breached.
  3. To enable us to maintain low monthly service charges, we apply an inclusive call limit for Inbound calls, after which Inbound calls are charged at £0.01 per minute. That limit is double the inclusive outgoing minutes applicable to each tariff.
  4. Upward duration rounding of 7 seconds is applied to UK calls, and 30 seconds to International calls.
  5. Call recordings are stored for 30 days before being deleted. During the 30 day period they can be downloaded to your PC or other device.
  6. Voicemail transcription converts an audio voicemail message to text. The text is sent in the body of an email to which the audio file is attached.
For Multi-User Businesses

The tariffs for multi-user businesses are based on the same tariff table above that applies to single-user homes and small businesses, but with the following per-user discount bands:

  • 2 – 9 users: 5% discount
  • 10 – 29 users: 10% discount
  • 30 – 59 users: 15% discount
  • 60 – 99 users: 20% discount
  • 100+ users: 25% discount

This means that (for example) a business with 30 x users can have a phone system for only £25.50 (plus vat) per month with an aggregate of 150 minutes of inclusive calls to UK landlines and mobiles.

In a multi-user situation all users must be on the same tariff.

Outbund Calls – Inclusive Minutes & Call Rates

The Premitel VoIP Phone Service Tariff Table shows that each user has a number of inclusive outgoing call minutes to UK landlines and to the main UK mobile networks.

The Tariff Table includes a link that can be used to download a spreadsheet showing the call charging rates for all destinations.

UK landline numbers are those that have the 01, 02 or 03 prefix.

The main UK mobile networks are EE, Three, O2, Orange (legacy), Virgin and Vodafone.

This means that not all numbers with the 07 prefix are included in the bundled minutes.

The call charging rates spreadsheet shows the identity of the mobile network that is associated with specific 07 prefixes.

Please note that the per minute rate is applied by the second.

Inbound Calls – Fair-Use Policy

To ensure that we maintain a low-cost and high-quality service for all customers we have to charge for incoming calls once they exceed the fair-use limit for each tariff.

This is simply because there are costs associated with providing capacity for incoming calls in terms of internet bandwidth, server processing power and memory.

We have also noted an increase in the number of call-centre businesses with home-based users that receive a very high number of incoming calls with very few outgoing calls.

We want to ensure that such businesses pay an appropriate amount for using the Premitel VoIP Phone Service so that we can provide a cost-effective, high-quality service for all users.

Our fair-use policy for Inbound calls is that if the monthly incoming call minutes exceeds double the inclusive outbound minutes for a specific tariff then those minutes will be charged at a rate of £0.01 per minute by the second.

Please get in touch if you have any queries about our Fair Use Policy for incoming calls.

Customer Account

A customer account would comprise one or more users and would typically be a family home or a business and can extend across multiple sites.

All users in an account must be on the same monthly per-user tariff option.

The total amount of inclusive minutes for an account would be aggregate of inclusive minutes for each user in the account.

Calls between users on the same account are not part of the inclusive minutes and do not incur any call charges.

Devices

A device is the equipment or software that is used to connect to the Premitel VoIP Phone Service.

A device could be a smart-phone app, a web browser app, a desk phone, a cordless phone or an analogue terminal adaptor (ATA).

Note that smart-phone and web-phone apps are included at no extra charge as part of the Premitel VoIP Phone Service.

A user can have more than one device for making and receiving external calls and for making and receiving internal calls to and from other users on the same account.

There are no additional charges for multiple devices associated with a user.

Calls can’t be made between devices that are associated with the same user.

The maximum number of concurrent calls that can be made or received by an account is equal to the number of users on that account.

Phone Numbers

There is no monthly charge for phone numbers.

The cost of transferring one existing phone number or activating a new number is included in the connection price for a new user.

Additional phone numbers incur a one-off charge of £10 plus vat.

Premitel would deal with all the administration associated with transferring an existing number.

Phone numbers can be routed to individual users or individual devices.

For multi-user accounts, phone numbers can also be routed to ring-groups, queues and auto-attendants.

Telephones and ATAs

Any SIP compatible telephone or ATA (Analogue Telephone Adaptor) can be connected to the Premitel VoIP Phone Service.

We prefer to supply telephones and devices pre-configured and tested.

If required, we can provide the credentials to enable the end-user to configure their device.

You can buy preconfigured telephones and ATAs from the Premitel online shop.

Contract and Payment

There is no minimum service period for the Premitel VoIP Phone Service.

Your commitment is to the end of the current billing month.

If you are not satisfied with our service you can cancel and transfer your phone number(s) to another service provider without penalty.

Invoices are issued on the first of each month for service charges in that same month and for call charges in the previous month.

Direct debit is mandatory for payment of monthly service charges.

If a direct debit fails then we are charged a fee by our merchant provider Go Cardless.

This fee will be passed on to the customer together with an admin charge of £5 plus vat.

Unusually High Call Charges

If a customer incurs significant and/or unusually large call charges due to a high number of premium rate or international calls we reserve the right to issue an interim invoice for call charges.

We would bar premium rate and international calls until the invoice has been paid.

If a customer is aware that they will be making an unusually high number of chargeable calls they can avoid any interruption to their service by contacting Premitel to make an advance payment to cover the likely cost of future calls.

Limitation of Liability

The Premitel VoIP Phone Service is provided on the basis that our liability for loss of service is limited to the pro-rata daily service rate for the duration of any service outage.

The reason for this is that the provision of a telephone service involves multiple factors that are beyond our control together with the reliance on services provided by third parties with whom we have no contractual relationship.

We have taken steps to ensure maximum quality, reliability and availability by using the NetSapiens platform to power the Premitel VoIP Phone Service.

Support

The monthly service charge includes initial configuration of the service to meet your requirements and reasonable requests for amendments and assistance on an ongoing basis

Our support would also extend to remote configuration of devices if we can get remote access using PC software such as Anydesk.

Ofcom General Conditions

The Premitel VoIP Phone Service complies with Ofcom’s General Conditions of Entitlement and in many cases exceeds its minimum service standards required from a Communications Provider.
